i have an 06 and suffer from this ticking noise as well, mine is most noticable between 1500-2500rpm and then sounds like a champ. I tried the rubber gasket thing w/ no change...i just changed my oil pan gasket yesterday due to a leak(believe it or not i was actually successful) and while i was under checking for leaks after i was done i noticed the noise was extra loud. With the catalytic converter 6 inches from my face it seemed to be coming from there, i moved all around under the engine and the noise was most prominent right by the cats. Im not much of a mechanic and dont know shit about engines but was wondering if this could be along the lines of the exhaust manifold tsb???

    This is what I do.

But yeah, the manifold TSB is supposed to help the ticking noise.

I noticed the ticking immediately when I bought mine. Hardly ever notice it now. I've just tuned it out. It's not hurting anything.

That TSB no longer exists. According to Toyota, the noise is normal, and everyone has to live with it. :)
