So I just joined on here and have had my 1st Yota for about 5 months now and loving it. I recently finished installing my wheels and tires after my lift and I had to put 1.5 inch spacers on them to clear the brakes and when I drove it home I have a sharp pull to the right. I have 16x10's with with 265/70's M/T's from Treadwrites on them. It didnt pull like this before with the lift and factories. Any advice or help....

Did you get an alignment after your lift?

No, I sure didnt. I just got them put on yesterday. I had an alignment done about a month ago but that was with factories so I know now there is a huge difference in size now BUT... When I say pull its like when I let go of the steering wheel Im flying to the curb type pull and thought maybe it might be more than just an alignment...

Well I appreciste it guys. Thanks for the help. Do you guys know off hand if a dealer will do an alignment on that size wheel? Where Im at alot of big name places wont touch a vehicle with those size wheels or even the tires if you didnt buy thru them. Crazy new policies...

I wouldn't go to a dealer.. I would go to a reputable tire shop in your area. I doubt anyone would have trouble aligning your truck with 265 70s. Many people on here have that size.

Just curious, why did you need an alignment on a 4 month old truck? Maybe you have something else going on...

I am at 7 years and 55k miles and have yet to need an alignment.

I go to the dealer. Local shop, 2 front tires = $100. Dealer, all 4 = $100. Peace of mind

For price, so much depends on region, quality of the shops equipment ect.. That is why I mentioned a reputable tire shop who specialize in it. We have 3 Toyota Dealerships near where I live, 2 are terrible, 1 is good, I wouldn't let the good one do an alignment for me.

So you have already had it aligned since the lift? If so I dont know why you would suddenly be in desperate need of another just due to spacers and new wheels and tires... I may be missing something though...:notsure:

Any chance something is rubbing? I wouldn't think that would mess your alignment up either.

IF your tires look like this from the front \ \ you'll pull if they look like this \ | or | \ you'll pull, to the right (think I have that right).

Also caster can play a part in pulling.

    Get an alignment.

off set tires and wheels can change less known alignment angles and while I wouldn't think that's causing your pull, might be worth it to get another alignment. A lot of places will warranty theirs if its been like less than a month, just go back and say it pulls bad.

Next slipping belts in tires can cause a pull that mimics a vehicle being out of alignment. Rotate your front tires to the rear and see if it makes a difference.

If all this fails, have an alignment shop check for a rear thrust angle. It won't so much cause a pull exactly but kinda. It will make you crab so to speak.

Ok, Thanks Ill have to take it by a shop and check it out. Ive looked at it and the tires or wheels aren't rubbing on anything and have plenty of clearence but the angles of the wheels and tires look off.
