The GSXR is Suzuki's only crotch rocket eh?

True, but aren't Ducati's like the Porsches of the bike world?? I'd hate to have to deal with excessively expensive parts and upgrades.. Plus the initial are and leg cost
Even the Engine bolts?? how would you be able to work on them with everything wired like that? You'd have to use wrenches all the time, zero ratchets.

nah, just say fuck it and cut the wires and never look back. i have no time for the track anyway.

and yeah the gsxr is the only full fairing suzuki sport bike. Any of the current sport bikes made by the big 4 are going to be highly competitive with each other. there are differences, but in terms of overall performance and reliability....kind of the same. however i can never get myself to like the newer kawasakis and i dont know why

I hear you, from what I've seen, not a fan of their styling.

Still thinking R-1 just cause of the longer frame though.

thats what i meant to add , the big differences are the rider positioning, although new rear sets can do wonders.

One of the better moments im my life that's for sure lol. The thing was downright scary, Being passenger is the worst.

I have a DR650 right now, its pretty sweet for hopping curbs and general street douchebaggery but in the end its a slow heavy pig. One thing it is good at is the twisties though, even with knobies I can almost drag the pegs on a nice paved road.

    IT HAS COME TO THIS!!

Utilizing the latest in being kick ass technology, I had PAID OFF MY TACO THIS MORNING!!! :woot: :woot:

Though a friend of mine informed me I will be paying for taco regardless for the rest of my life..

Seriously starting research, as I plan to be knowledgeable enough to buy in aprox. 2 months or so. Still wanting a street sports/ touring bike I can do a build on. Liking the frame lengths of the Yamaha R-1 (1000cc), but kinda liking the 38 MPG's on the Yami FZ8(800cc) and thinking an 800 will be plenty.

    R1 Specs:

If you buy a bike that doesn't have the letter R in the model name, your insurance premiums will be cut in half.

    Also good to know.

I wont sacrifice performance just for looks so I'm open to all makes and models. Kinda thinking a 1300cc Touring bike..

Either of those bikes should get 40+ mpg. Bikes are really bad for mpg depnding on your right wrist. If i drive normally i can get 40-45. If i drive it hard, i get 25.

    ^^ this

:puke: that thing is a monstrosity.

Marcel, you need to get out and test ride bikes. Especially at your height, there are bikes that may look awesome, but they won't fit you. Sport bikes are designed for guys 5'9" not 6'6". a test ride will be the best way for you to find out what fits you and what makes you grin (huge factor right there, that is why i have a 13 year old pig for a bike).

If you've never ridden a sport bike, anything 600 or bigger will give you a hell of a ride. The 600 will be more forgiving when you hammer on the throttle.

    ^^ This.

Don't eliminate any bikes because you think theyre out of your price range. I ride a Ducati myself and have had no "premium" expenses. And these days modern sport bikes R-1, GSXR-1k's are the same price as the European bikes (Ducati, Aprilia, BMW).

The L-twin engines of the Ducatis can put a smile on your face and a stiffness in your pants pretty quickly with their torque and will definitely have a unique deep sound. Unless you favor the bumblebee sound of the Japanese bikes...

The Ninja is a 600 right??
Make/Model? Your pic doesn't show up for me :(
Honestly I haven't really looked into the "Premium" bikes, I didn't even know they were comparable, I thought they were quite a bit pricier.

    Link to specs??

Also I'm probably going to find some fresh used bike, see if I can find someone regretting a purchase versus paying extra coin for new.
