    EDIT: Added 4th option

I've been looking at getting a new truck, either new or used. Here are two prices I was quoted at for a new 2012, and one for a mint 2010. I have been going over the options for days and can't make a decision. My gut says go with the 2010. I can't make up my damn mind. Any suggestions?

    Option #1
    2012 DCLB SR5 w/ upgrade package - $29,996.74 OTD

    Option #2
2012 DCLB TRD Sport w/ upgrade package - $31,212.24 OTD

    Option #3
    2010 DCLB SR5 w/ upgrade package 18,000 miles - $26,000 OTD
    Offered me $15,000 trade for my '05 TRD-OR AC w/ 85,000 miles

    Option #4
Almost to 2013 MY, wait and see. Then make a decision.

    (OTD= sales price+TTL+fees)

What are the intended uses of the truck ? You obviously want a DCLB , do you plan to lift ?

    I went from a 05 2wd sr5 ACLB to a 12 TRD Sport DCLB. I have been loving the 12.

If you plan on doing much moding I think option #3 might be the way to go. If you are not going to do much moding then go with #2. I would stick to 2 or 3.

You might want to go to another dealer and see if you can get more for your trade in. If I remember right I think I got about $14,000 for my 2WD 2005? I think they can do better than 15k? And they have room to go down on the 2010.

IMO not enough savings on 1 to not just go ahead and get 2. So for me, it wound be either 2 or 3. But again, not cheap enough for a used ... so I'd go 2 :p

Would like to cause there is nothing better looking than a lifted DCLB, but it's not in the immediate plans. I don't do any real off-roading. Just off road driving to riding spots in the national forests.

Why do you ask about the lift? Problems with lifting '10's?

If you were going to replace the suspension you could save money getting the SR5 instead of the Sport

Exactly why I got my 2011 SR5 DCLB 4x4. I added a lift within the first month of ownership.

Why are you selling the 05? You having problems or just wanting to trade up while shes still worth quite a bit?

Just want to trade up while she's still worth a bit. Truthfully I have always kicked myself for not getting the double cab, and if I get the double cab I need the long bed, so another OR is off the table. My '05 has been a great truck and is still mint. No complaints whatsoever. If I had the time I'd post it for sale on here, but I have a crazy work schedule.

I have a 2010 DCSB SR5 with a lot of extras. Love it but wish I had a long bed. All my supplies that I carry are 6 feet and stick out of the cap door. Maybe Toyota could make a 6' 6'' bed for the in between guys.
