blocks will maintain your ride. add a-leafs will be a bit more ruff. blocks will give you more axle wrap too. i would look into new deaver leafs. but if i had to choose i would probably do add a-leaf

i did AAL. the ride is a little rougher, but not bad..... honestly, i wouldn't do either. i would have the dealer do the TBS, for free, and then just lift the front..... IMO the TBS adds about the same lift as the AAL.....

other smarter people can answer it better, but i think it is a "better" set of leaf springs to replace your stock ones.... stock ones are "OK" no recalls or anything, but in many cases they kinda suck... i think bed bottoms out some with a load, so toyota admitted them not being up to par, and will install you a better set if you go ask.. .and the beefer set raises the rear end about the same as a AAL...

some of the stuff i just said may be incorrect or not entirely true, or flat out wrong..... when others chime in we will know how much of that i'm right on.... but i think that is pretty much correct.....

It's TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin). L Jackson got it pretty much right. If you complain to Toyota about your leaf springs, they'll replace the 3 leaf pack with a 4 leaf pack. This TSB is for the 2nd gen trucks.

Between the blocks and the AAL's, I went with the AAL's. I am, however, in a 1st gen truck.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
the tsb lifts the rear about 1-1.25" for free. then if u wanna go more and keep the same leafs, they say to go w/ a block.
