PSI check day...

I've always been a bit lazy in this area but with my 12 taco & my gg at2's I'm committed to not being lazy. I've been checking the pressure every 2 weeks. Just wondering how often the rest of you check it??? I've been running 34/32 front/rear & they kill the chalk test perfectly at that psi.

 

My PSI's luckily stay all the same for the most part. I check mine maybe once a month and they are always good to go. I also run 34/32.

 

x2. i think all 4 are at 34 tho or 32. i try and keep all the same. does it ride better 34/32 VS all the same?

edit: i check mine like once a month. if i am going on a trip that is like 2 or 3 plus hours i will check before i leave.

 

im at 24 front, 20 rear and still ballooned a little in the middle

 

Thanks. I'll back it down to monthly & PRE Mammoth 6 hour drives (which I was already doing along with checking all fluids before that drive).

 

I've heard from chris4x4 the treads wear better with those settings.

 

yeah i check everything before a long trip. like 12h drive to western new york.

 

just realized my tires are extremely worn for how many miles they have, and its because of how low they are. awesome. will post results after a quick check/inflation.

 

ok. than i may switch to 34/32.

 

wow. 15-17 all around. 33 all around now.

the 66' vw my sister drives should be at 18/25, was at like 12 and 15. ouch. thats fixed too. i knew today could be productive!

me and BFA was just noticing last night how bad it was. bought the tires in july and hadnt rotated them or checked them or anything. ill have the tire place rotate them just because im lazy.

 

My original tires came filed with Nitrogen, so when I replaced my wheels/tires I had them filled with N as well and it handles the hot->cold->hot much better than air. Been @ 34 since I put them on 2 months ago and I've made several long trips to all over the southeastern US in the last few weeks. I check mine every 2 weeks just to see ....

 

I usually wait till the TPMS sets an alarm to turn on the indicator.

 

^That's a lot of miles at the wrong PSI, though.

35 front, 32 rear. Nails the chalk test perfectly. I will say, however, that with the current tires, they take a higher pressure than the Destination AT's I had before. Stiffer sidewall?

 

i'm reading everyone has similar air pressure which is strange to me considering how many different tires brands and load ranges people are running. not saying anyone is wrong but can someone explain this?

 

It's not just about the tires. Weight has a lot to do with it.
