yeah, I believe it was only 23, never even got more then 15ft away, punched it and it flipped over backwards and snapped the shock. Even at 42mph there was more throttle, just need to get it under control before I try and go faster.

^^^^ Your dad sure is a heavy breather.. :p

I would say your best bet might be gearing it up... a lot. Spreads the torque out a bit better... maybe.

    Fuck, I don't know.

I have this e-maxx that belongs to my brother it was barely used, not sure if I should fix it up for him and sell it for him, or buy it from him and take it on as a project for a basher, its the first emax model, brushed with the 14.4V esc. Thought of maybe just upgrading the esc to the EVX2 16.8V and some nice lipos, if I go brushless I would need to upgrade tranny, diffs and drive shafts. As for tires I still have some mounted on 17mm wheels, would just need to get the 14-17mm adapters which are about $20 (tires in picture are toasted). I need to check the stock transmission as it sound like something is bad inside, shocks look okay I don't see any oil, or dirt accumulated around usual leaking spots...

You guys think is worth it to take it on as a project?

Yeah he has some breathing issues, goes for surgery in a month or so.

I thought the same thing, i will throw a 22 pinion on sometime soon, cant test the mph since i broke the gps but all i want is it to handle decent.

Im learning as i go :D

Personally I think that the big monster trucks are the most fun to bash with. I prefer playing with a TMAXX over my SC. Just comes down to whether you want a monster truck or not.

I stepped mine up from a 16 to a 22 and the torque is even more so. I really like it but it just made it more ridiculous. Wheelies even easier now. I would say go a lot further up if you want more control. A lot of it has to do with that big SC body, though. Find a way to get it to catch less air, helped mine a lot.

I dont wanna jump to high without having a temp gun, i still havnt been able to run a fully battery through it but its been cool so far. the highest pinion I have is a 22, I could also keep the 19t pinion and step my spur gear back up to a 54.

I like monster truck for sure, I used to have a savage which was a blast, just not sure if when I'm done with it, it would have been better just to get something else, I think what I'll do is take it apart, re-build/fix it, that way I can get an idea how much it would cost to upgrade it (from what I see that it needs), if it isn't that much I'll offer to buy it from him.

littledvl is your dad stampede the 2wd or 4wd?? Any pics?? Forgot about those, rollers are pretty cheap on ebay so that might be a better choice (meaning a new roller might be less than what i'll cost to fix/upgrade the emaxx)
