Current weather forecast for my camping trip next weekend....highs in the mid-50's, lows in the upper-30's, partly cloudy and 20% chance of rain

 that doesn't sound too bad, let's just hope it stays that way.

Yeah, it had great reviews, and I needed more capacity than some others I orginally was considering. It ain't cheap (or light), but it is very well designed and built, and the suspension system is a piece of art. Others have said the extra weight didn't matter because the suspension makes it feel like you are carrying less.

    Do it!
    :drevil:
Well, it suited my needs, and I am hard to fit (between sizes on almost everything I try to buy), and with this pack, you can swap out the harness, hip belts, and shoulder belts all independently (and no extra cost, at least through REI). For random example, you could have a medium harness, large belt, and small shoulder straps if that is what fits you best.

As I mentioned earlier somewhere, my baseline capacity is an 8-9 day trip on the John Muir Trail (approx. 1 section from trailhead to trailhhead). It is all pretty high and you must carry a bear can, so it's a lot of stuff. I wasn't confident a 65 liter would be big enough. Better too much than too little capacity. Plus, after two previous packs, I really know what I want now, and I can afford it now, and this should last at least 20 years...

My advice (if anyone gives a hoot): Never buy stuff beause it is on sale. Buy it because it is correct. Then you will get your money's worth. I overheard people milling around the backpack section last night as I spent 2 hours fitting, and I heard comments like "this one is only $XXX" and "I don't like that color" without even trying them on. Those criteria should not really matter. Figure out fit and capacity for your needs first, then features. The rest is secondary.

Got all new LED clearance lights put on my travel trailer. Havent decided on STTs for it yet. Redid some plumbing that a blown tire decided to destroy. Now just have to get it registerred and propane tanks filled and its ready to go. I'm getting antsy to go.

Why do my neighbors always feel compelled to make some witty comment when I have my tent set up in the front yard?

Yeppo. And air it out...things get a little dank sitting in the garage all winter.

I'm considering setting up my chair, table, and camp kitchen too just for S's and G's

Ten minutes ago, I actually just set up my old Northface Bullfrog 4-season tent (discontinued years ago) to take pictures to sell it. Anyone interested?
