So im looking now because after installing my3" lift and 33" tires my prerunner open diff is a little slower, so i figured hopefully soon ill want to regear it to 4.10 or 4.56. and if i do that i might as well put a e-locker in. to save a shitload of time is there any tacoma third members with 4.10's and an e-locker? if not what locker should i put in along with 4.56's?

the "8.4" is a different 3rd than the elocker one iirc

best bet is to save up and go with an ARB locker with either geat choice.

Call east coast gears. No e locker for you. It's not compatible with your axle.

If your not that serious remember many of the other lockers do not do well with daily driving.

You can. Its one of those get what you pay for deals. I run a 2006 tundra diff with factory lsd. They come in 3.9 4.1 and 4.3

The detroit would be fine. But a selectable would be best.

I would just switch to the tundra but i know a locker is better than LSD. because theres a huge mudhole close the the house where are the rednecks go and i want to play sometimes. :)

I'm really not that serious, ill probably go in the mud maybe 2 or 3 times in a year. MAYBE. so an ARB to me would seem like a waste. and I've been looking at the Lock Right locker. they have one for the 8.4" rear diff. and I wouldnt mind not gassing around a corner. what do you guys think? i just need a cheap option for a locker. to use it maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

I like the idea of a selectable locker as it's there when I want/need it and when I don't I just turn it off. If you get the High output compressor it can also be used for other things, not just to engage the locker.

damn theres a lot of negativity in this thread! OP to answer some of your previous questions, if you want to re-gear, for whatever the reason is, it will only help your truck and if you want to put in a locker, for whatever the reason is, its a good idea to do it at the same time. YES, it sounds like an ARB would be best because it is selectable. YES, between the locker, compressor, and install it is a lot of money for something to be used 2,3 times a year. NO, it is not tha only option. YES, a Lock Right Powertrax no-slip is a very good street locker (thats what its built for), a lot cheaper, and should fit your needs just fine!

You don't "need" a compressor with an ARB. I just have a two gallon air tank I fill to 100psi. I can lock the the arb about 500 times and it will go down to 80psi. I filled it last December and haven't topped it off yet, still at about 90psi wheeling almost every weekend. I have nitrogen as a back up, but haven't needed it once. That said, a lock right will be just fine for what you do.
