    I have my 2004 toyota tacoma, I want to drop a crate engine in it but im not sure what would be the best crate engine and what transmissions would bolt up to it? Help:D

    im just wondering what one who fit in my truck, I was looking for one that would give me a clean look in the engine bay, I was thinking about a 350 small block but im not sure yet.

    I wouldnt think a ls would fit in a 2004, what kind of modifications would you have to do be sides the engine and tranny?

    It should..fit..I know guys throwing LS engines in much smaller engine bays.

    You will also need a new computer system compatible with the engine.

    Prob going to need some metal fab for engine mounts.

    New drive shaft as the measurements will be different.


    if you are doing the labor yourself you should be alright.

    I plan on doing most of the labor, but Im new to the japan trucks, Im use to working on american fords and stuff so i was wondering what kind of engines would fit in the engine bay, I plan on turning it in to a prerunner, so im cutting the fender wheel welds any way.

    well in that case yeah. throw an LS in there and get some power behind it ahah.

    also consider an axle swap with quality gears.
