    So here is my deal.

I needed the TSB done on my truck. Talked to the local dealer about a lift kit install. I order the parts. I bring the truck down, the tech looks over the truck, and we talk about the lift it. He quotes me 250 to install it. Here is the kicker, Toyota is going to do the Spring TSB at the same time, cover the labor for replaceing the rear springs and throw in my AAL on the new springs. A since an alignment is needed for the TSB, Toyota is going to cover that too.

So recap, I'm received to Toytec OME kit. Dealer is performing the TSB at the same time and installing the lift for $250. Not bad at all if you ask me. Its getting done on Tuesday.

Without running through the entire thread...

I bought an OME lift kit, shocks front and back, 885s up front, UCAs and leaves in the back.

I have been quoted for ~$600 for the install, including 4wheel alignment. I have called several places, is this around the right price? Seems ridiculously high to me...

I paid around 450+ tax to have my lift and UCA's installed and alignment.

Loving it so far! I haven't done any serious offroading with it yet, just a few trips up a muddy whooped out dirt road near my house. It handles great, shocks an springs feel amazing, sooooo much better than my previous setup. I love the way it takes on the washboard ruts. On-road feel is awesome too, barely feel potholes and crappy pavement. The only trouble is that it's wandering a bit due to the angle on the UCA's. Planning to add those next.
The leafs are serious too, very little sag, even when I put my motorcycle hauler on the hitch, with 2 bikes. loving it so far, will check back in when I've really tested it on some trails.

    I'm assuming that's including installation?
They're charging you about $500 for install? Could get lower quote from somewhere else.

    Front and Rear Bilstein 5100's - $334
    ToyTec 1.5" AAL - $ 80
    ToyTec/Eibach 1.6" lift coils - $150
    Total Parts $524

Went round and round about doing it myself. Figured I would need a whole weekend, better jack stands, rent a good spring compressor - or take assemblies to somewhere to compress the springs, etc etc.

Figured I might save a net $120 by trying it myself, so gave in and took it to a local experienced 4x4 shop and had the work done for $480 including the alignment.

Okay, sorry for my ignorance, but I need advice from y'all. I know nothing about lifts! I have a 2005 2WD DCLB Prerunner and I do basically no off-roading. All I want is some height (preferably 2.5 to 3 inches) and I want the cheapest and most reliable set up. What should I get?
