Confused on the Caster now...latest numbers after UCA's @ 2.5 vs. last numbers @ 1.8.... has some rubbing on the cab mount now. Was told 3.0 pulls the wheel closer to the center :notsure:

I suppose the new UCA's puts the upper ball joint closer to the rear, so even with more positive caster the wheel is not that more forward than it was before?

hold up....so old shop set at 1.8* then you added UCA's and they re-set to 2.5* and now you rub?

when are you rubbing? you should of gained the ability for 1" additional droop with the new UCA's

That's why confused, only rubbed once diving into a gas station @ 45degrees. So just turning slightly on the up travel, sounded like the cab mount, that's chopped.

I guess you would need to be sure you were rubbing and where in order to see what the deal is

After looking at the graphic below...3.0 does make sense. 2.5 must be about the same as 1.8 when factoring in the new UCA pulling back some. Just hit that one driveway just right, sounded bad :p

Nah, it moves the wheel forward in the wheel well net, because the upper ball joint is further from the center of the wheel than the lower, thus moving the upper moves the wheel less. Added caster = wheel further forward.

What changes when you tilt the spindle backwards like that is the steering arc, so the wheel does work in closer to the frame and cab mount when you go full lock to that side.

Edit: If you weren't rubbing at full lock, it was probably something else.

Do you still have your fender liners in? Mine used to make the most hellacious noise when the tires would catch them. I've trimmed out all except enough to protect the air intake.
