Dark-colored cars may be banned in California

That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard of. For one, the Volvo with no tint and its silver paint gets just as hot as the dark brownish Expedition with privacy glass and no other tint in the summer. It's not color, it's size.

Secondly, my Mazda has 18% on the back and 70% on the front and it keeps the car DRASTICALLY cooler than any other Mazda3 out there. If they were smart they would let you tint the front windows to deflect some of that heat, I know my 70% does enough during 105 degree summer heat to the point that you can't touch the steering wheel that was in the sun under the windshield but it's perfectly grabable and about 20F cooler at the points under my side window tint.

It's not color, it's size and window tint. This state is just stupid and want to control our lives more than they do now.

I've been here 9 years. Its definitely a state of extremes. Some of the biggest hippies and biggest rednecks are out here because I've met both. I've been in parts of the state that were the coldest places I've ever been and I've been in places that are hotter than anywhere I've been.

I have a love-hate relationship with it. On one hand its expensive as hell and that pisses me off. There are way the hell too many people here as well. But it has been good to me professionally and I've had a number of really good jobs that I doubt I would've found in other states. But man does it come up with some of the stupidest laws! Like banning plastic bags and incandescent light bulbs.

 

You would think that a state on the verge of bankruptcy and massive deficit spends would focus on something more important. I guess thats what you get when too many liberals live in such close proximity!
