looking for the thread where it shows what all to trim so the cable doesnt bind

i saw on here somewhere that shows what they trimed on tail gate where the cable gets pinched when shutting it

i saw it somewhere on here. how about doi need both both cables anyhow? cable on right side & EZ down strut on left ?

yea but i only have use of 1 arm for quite some time so it already is worth its weight in gold to me, just trying to work w/what i got

Read all the posts in this thread. Seems the posts near the bottom talk about a fix.

 

thanks man the thread i cant find used a dremmel to make it work, im gonna look into this option as well

 

From what I understand, the rods work both ways. As in they resist/slow down the tailgate even when trying to raise it, so My suggestion to you is: Find someone local that has one installed (doesn't really matter on the vehicle I guess) and see if it's too difficult to raise with 1 arm, with the resistance.

 

i have mine on i just want my cable on there w/out it getting cut off, other than that i love both of them hood&tail gate. i use it now & im wondering if i even need the cable on that side?i do sit on the gate alot to change into waders & such

 

if it doesn't fit, cut the left side of the tailgate liner.

take it off the truck and you only need to remove like an 1/8" or so.

there's another thread somewhere on here on where exactly to cut. this is what i did.

i think theres a few other threads on this too, but they are super hard to find from what I remember when i did this.
