My Gens ace 2S 5800 45C (Came with really nice DEANS leads and balance plug, BUT I need EC3!!) and Sky Lipo 1600 3S 20C came in today. Also went to LHS and picked up 80wt shock oil, plugs for the 3S (I'm gonna mod my transmitter to accept it) and GMK shock snot. Hoping to rebuild shocks and keep them from leaking so badly.

This 5800 lipo is almost as heavy as my 5000NiMH.. not what I expected. My 4000 lipos of the exact same brand are much lighter. But this 5800 is higher C rating, too. The case seems to be a tad thicker, as well.

Wigs me out on why people have so much trouble soldering. Hot iron, (no gun) damp sponge or paper towel, good solder. Third hand tool is nice, but a rubber band around plier handles also makes a suitable "vise".

mjb may be able to help on this. I'm doing the lipo mod to my FS-GT3B and soldering deans onto the controller. I don't usually struggle with batteries. This, however is a thin-ass little wire that's coming out of the transmitter. I think some of the problem is the gun is dirty and not getting hot enough. I've got on terminal on, but the other has some kind of plastic shit melted onto, came off of the red plastic the plug is made of, maybe? If I could get that shit off of it I could probably get it.

You said gun, all guns suck monkey balls!!! There hot, but require you to hold them like a gun, with no touch or feel. With a iron, you have more precision.

Just finished shooting myself a new shell, turned out pretty sweet. I'm digging the carbon fiber look on the rear shock towers.

Thank you sir. It's exactly the same as what I'm running right now, but with the violet/purple and the yellow/orange reversed.
