    Yes it fits...lol Fit is NOT great, BUT for $100 I couldn't say no, especially since it already comes with ladder rack. For the sole purpose of locking up my tools it works great...

    As you found out, yes it fits, barely. I kept my A.R.E. cap from my first generation Tacoma. I had to shove the cap back to clear the cab/brake light. That left a gap between the tailgate and the cap of about an inch. I had a custom tailgate "cap" made to close the gap and keep fingers out of it. I had to remove the bed rails to clamp it down properly.

    I just used some screws and screwed it to the bedsides. Works... Surprisingly it doesn't look THAT bad.

    As you mentioned the fit is NOT perfect, however I don't need it 100% weather tight, I live in Phoenix AZ and we get rain 3-4 times a year. All I need it to do is to keep my tools safe. I already ordered pop N lock for my tailgate and going to locksmith this morning to get the locks on the topper re-keyed...

    ANYTHING will fit ANYTHING. It just depends on how much work is involved, and how much one cares what the end result looks like.
    I'm sure I can get a shell for a 1982 El Camino to fit my 2011 Taco. It'll take me a week of fabbing stuff up, and the end result will look like pure shit. But I can make it fit!
