    Hey Rob...John who?:D

My wife pointed out the whole back roof that needs replacing. That may end my chances of doing any kind of a meet that isn't local for me. I gotta come up with $8000 for materials, spending a couple hundred on gas and stuff would be irresponsible, not to mention very risky for the testicles.

I may have to wait till the roof is done before I plan on spending money on anything else.

Complete and total tear-off. I need to replace the 2x4x28' header across the back of the house. Making a 2x10 to replace it. That will lift the end of the roof about 7" (the 2x4 is layed flat!) That is what holds the roof up over the 6" slider, the 6" french door and the rollout. The gas seal in the slider has been gone for 2 years now. Right now the roof is scissored, we are eliminating that and going all the way from the existing ridge beam to the new header with 2x8s. (approx. 18') We are also extending the roof another foot to get by the chimney so an eavetrough can run the full length of the roofline and exit out the end. Also, the shingles were never woven in at the seam of an addition put on before I bought the place, now it rains in the kit. and fam. rm. during heavy rain and snow melt!

So like I said, complete overhaul. I'm figuring we'll see the sky from the kit. and fam. rm. for a day or so till all the sheeting is back on.

I think most of the repairs have been made by the previous owner's daughter's boyfriend...a boces beginning carpenter. Lots of stuff hidden in the panelling over slat and lathe!

Lots of stories to tell about this place...but it's home!

Yea I remember your house. Looks like a very small house with a lot of additions added on to it.

I think "a fucked-up mess" has a lot less syllables and is easier to say!:D

Actually, my wife fell in love with it from day 1. It works out pretty good for us. She has horses and there are around 5 acres of yard and pasture, and I hunt and wheel and there are about 6 acres of woods with some black mud to wheel in and deer to eat.

So I guess you could call it a Blessing or a gift from God:amen:. I complain alot, but I do love it here!

Who needs a roof? Think of it as the skylight you never knew you wanted. Also provides a good cross breeze for the upcoming hot weather.

I've been going to Naples every year since I met my wife. It is very beautiful there. Lots of good wine too.

Yea but you might not have ever seen the June bugs there!!!

About the size of the twin prop Sikorsky Sky Crane? Like the mosquitos, they can carry pets and small children.
