I watched most of that game, and if that's all Backstrom did for the night he won't get anything. He should get a call from Shanny thanking him for the restraint.

Similar to the cross check from Asham during the Pitt game. Difference is Asham threw a punch after the cross check.

 

Only reason his stick hits Peverley in the helmet is because Peverley tries to cross check Backstrom at the same time. Backstrom's stick rides up Peverley's arms to his helmet. I wish like hell he'd get a game because I'm scared of the potential he has to scoring, but it won't happen. I'm still surprised Backstrom is this physical after coming back from a concussion earlier in the season, including scrums with Lucic.

Wonder if Marchand is wearing a bag of ice today:

I would actually agree with this. He was trying to draw more than the 2 minutes on it. Marchand goes through phases like this. Hopefully he cuts the shit. Chimera def deserved to get two minutes. What man would swing a stick at another mans area?

 

Yeah any idea when this phase changes over??... it's about 23 years long so far.
