Figured as much. This sucks big time. Just gone done calling my bank and they said they have to sit and watch my account daily and will dispute the transactions as they finish pending. Then the merchant has 45 days to bring evidence that I was the one who bought the items or something. Then some other crap about up to 90 days until I get my money back. Pretty sure this stuff screws up your credit, doesn't it? They got my debit card and not my CC.

I rarely use a debit card for exactly this reason. Huge difference between the two (CC and DC) transactions. For the most part, the CC is on the bank whereas the DC is on you to prove it wasn't you.

Sorry this had to happen to you. Good luck and hopefully; you're back in business soon with a positive outcome.

Exact same thing just happened to me. Luckily it was only $150, but still sucks that I won't have that money anytime soon. I already cancelled my card and processed a claim. They got my co-worker as well the other week.

Let me tell you, if it is Wells Fargo they will take the 90 days.

Both times we got our money back on the 90th day.

Seems like wells Fargo has gone completely down hill since wachovia bank bought them out.

I have had wells going on 20 years never had problems till about a year ago when they adopted most of Wachovia's policies

Other way around. Wells bought Wachovia. Wells has taken a giant shit on it's customers long before that happened.

I use to do this as well but started using debit again because its easier to track. Could still use debit card as a credit card tho

I think it's just as easy to track now days. There are some places you can't get around using a debit card (like Costco-unless you carry wads of cash).

I will say that anyplace the card reader is unattended is probably a good place not to use a debit card-like a gas station. Though I heard a while back that they found skimmers on Lucky's readers and in quite a few places too

Well I got it all situated today as much as I could. I called the 1800 number and put in a claim right as I woke up and saw it and then after class I went to my bank and talked to my banker. I got issued a new debit card and I chose to close down both my checkings and savings accounts just in case and got new ones. This banker is a pretty damn good guy and has worked with our family for years and is making sure I get my money back. Hopefully this doesn't take 90 days but either way they said that they offer credit for the money that's missing.

Still curious as hell to see how I got my card info stolen.
