Nice fish, last year I witnessed with my own eyes at 2 seperate times and locations 2 different ppl catch 2 fish on one lure. ... that sounds like it should be in a Dr. Seuss clip...

Caught in my small little creek behind the house. I was crazy ecstatic!! Thought I was gonna sh$t myself :D NEVER seen or caught anything that big in the creek. Caught 14" bass out of holes last year. Was fishing in the current when I got this guy. For reference I wear a size 12 boot that is 13" long. No I didn't keep it, couldn't bring myself to kill it. Such a beautiful fish. Stupid question, but what "breed" of trout is it???

That's a heck of a first fish for the year! Nice job!

I feel sorry for you guys that can't really fish early in the year cuz of the weather. I've been keeping up with how many trout I catch this entire year. So far I'm up to 193. That doesn't count all the bass/perch/walleye/bass I've caught.

Dwalden......193 for the trout alone, thats awesome I wouldnt go hungry. I mainly catch bass and I think I will hit at least 200 during the year, but that is only for probably 8 or 9 months of fishing this year. Last year was around 7 or 8 months. Looking forward to a good fishing year though...

I had someone ask me last year how many fish I caught in a year, and that got me curious. Made me start wondering. And, honestly, it's been kind of slow the last month or so. Things will start picking up when I start taking float trips here shortly.:D

Nice looking fish. "Fish of a thousand cast", sometimes seems like a hundred thousand cast. Been trying for 3 years now. Still nothing. Those steel head are smart fuckers

I didn't think Bout steelhead. Never caught one.

Yea, rainbows will lose some color, but they usually won't be THAT silver from just a short time out of the water

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I thought Steelhead was just another name for Rainbow Trout?? Part of the reason that fish has little color is my cell phone pic. It was more colorful in person, and initially I thought it was a rainbow. I will take the camera with me today and see if I can't land him or another one. My cousin is coming so I will have a photographer too. Regardless of what it is, it was a damn amazing catch in this little creek and what fun with 4lb line!!!

Thanks, that was the first one I had ever caught. I lost another one about 1/2 hour earlier. What a rush when you get a hit and total devastation when you loose one. The one I caught was pretty small, only about 22". My dad gets to fish for them a lot and has done pretty well the last few years. He's landed a few in the 28" range. He hooked into a nice native salmon two years ago to estimated it at 15lbs or so. His story over the phone sounded like "a river runs through it" with him practically jumping in the water so he wouldn't break his line.

Here's the pic he sent me. (This fish was released)
