Get leupold rings if you go with standard rings. Also make sure you get the correct diameter as well, either 30mm or 1"

Not talking about rules.... that's why I mentioned shooting on BLM.

    It's just common sense.
Steel core ammo starts fires. It's not smart to shoot it when it's dry or "fire season" unless you're in an area where there's nothing to burn.

I cut mine off to fit my Spike's SAR rail. Used a ban saw but a 4.5 grinder with a cut off wheel, not a grinding disk like the tard in the video, would work fine. I had to take my rail off today and send it back to Spike's since the lock screw stripped and the rail would walk off of the gun when I would shoot it supported. So I thought I'd take a few pics to show ya what it would look like since the topic was brought up. I think it looks a bit goofy but I'm used to my free float.

    Better than an A1 ;)

But I'd seriously consider a PRS... that'll get out almost 11 1/2, and the adjustable cheek weld can be handy.

Just started ordering stuff for my first AR build...

Got a stripped Black Weapons Armory lower and getting my stripped Vltor upper next weekend.

The only other things I know for sure that I want is the BCM/Vltor charging handle and magpul furniture.

The lower and receiver are both from companies based out of Tucson, and I want to support Magpul because of the money they raised for Japan after the earthquake/tsunami (My mom is from Tokyo and her good friend lost his wife and daughter that day).

I think ill just get the rest of the stuff as part of a kit or something from somewhere. Haven't really gotten that far yet. Just kind of started out as wanting to support local businesses; then I decided to slowly put it together.

Okay guys I've been toying around with the idea of a roof mounted gun rack. Only twist to it is that I'm gonna use the police style rack. (Locked in place unlocked by a hidden button) any ideas how I could mount something study enough to the roof to support it without drilling through the roof itself?

pics or link to stripped upper?
since your building the upper from scratch the only real "kits" you can get now would be the Lower parts kit and the stock assembly kit.

I would suggest getting the factory roof rack and then mounting something to that. :)
