Wondering if anyone else feels like we got too many stickies going on at the top of the 2nd gen forum. Having to scroll half way down the page each time to get to the threads is not awesome. Why is "removing transmission crossmember" a sticky?

    I concur.

My DIY LCA ball joint replacement thread couldn't be a sticky because I was told there were to many other sticky's.....and 1/2 of the existing ones are total POO

I have seen other forums add a subfolder to the "2nd gen. tacomas" forum so there is only one item to scroll past and you can easily access the stickies by clicking on that link...

I think we should sticky this one to the 2nd Gen forum.

One way to handle it is to create a sticky for each forum and move all the stuff that should be stuck more permanently into that thread via links (sorted of course).

I think (others may disagree) that two or three stickies is about enough. This gives you one 'master' sticky and one or two most currents (that fall into the master at some point).

    That's my $.02 worth.

Maybe when a thread is deemed "sticky" its moved to a 1st gen or 2nd gen subforum called like "DIY/Guides" and make sure no new threads are allowed to be created, but users can still respond to existing

I think for each subforum, there should be a sticky, containing all of the sticky'ed threads for the sake of a smoother browsing experience. Less clutter = more productive browsing(even if at work :p)

I sent a suggestion like this (with an example) to Bob some time back.

It's a bitch to keep up but it keeps things simple and smoother.

I'd suggest making one sticky thread and fill it with links to the other threads. Similar to the way the Cheap/Free Mods thread is.

Put one thread in each subforum with the relevant topics.

New threads that are deemed "sticky worthy" could be posted as stickies for about a month and then have their link posted to the more generic thread.

I figure the mods and admins here do a pretty good job cleaning up the various messes and stuff (which take a metric shit ton of time and for which they don't get paid).

I pass my suggestions on and if they mod team decides not to use them, that's their prerogative. Translation; I don't worry about it too much.
