biggest tire i can get by with??

dont have alot of time to use computer.
so here what i have 2007 ac cab long bed 4x4
installing billies at 1.75 with stock coils.
should level truck out from my measurements.
have the stock sport chrome spoke wheels 16".
can i get by with 285?if not what the biggest i can run?
also what if i get aftermarket wheels,what can i get by with.

IF STOCK, no lift: 265/75-16... 32"... It is an inch taller than stock, and won't rub.

 

If you have the lift at 3" with LR UCA's the 285's will fit with the off road rims w/o a spacer but you rub the front of the UCA at full lock both ways on the steering. You have about a 1/4 between the tire and the UCA at the top. If you can live with not turning all the way to lock and going to stay on the street you can probably make it. I wouldn't off road it and flex the suspension with that setup until you get spacers. UCA will hit the tire at full droop.

 

You guys are forgetting to mention that he'll require rims with more backspacing to run 285's otherwise he'll be rubbing the UCA more than a horny dog on his masters leg.

 

I mentioned I was running toyota off road stock rims. But that is what is really needed to fix the problems with rubbing with flex. I'm running mine like that temporarily till my spacers get here.

 

Sport rims are 17"

 

I still wouldn't run it on the street with stock rims just in case.

But yes, looking back I did notice you said you were rocking Spacers. My bad.

 

Just another FYI because I keep seeing the same people posting the same answers.... 265/70/17's on stock sport wheels can rub

Do you have any type of lift? If you have Billies, what height are they set to?
From what I've seen, if you have them set to 1.75+, you shouldn't have any rub with 265/70/17's

I don't have any proof on this... yet, so feel free to prove me wrong

 

i am running 265 70 17 on a 2012 with no lift at all.
just would like to run 285 on this truck.

Caster has more to do with wheel rubbing then lift and like Ant said the lift does not matter unless you adjust the bump stops

 

I occasionally rubbed with my 265/70s too before the 5100s went in. It was very sporadic- perfect storm kinda thing.

OP, you can also try a 275/70r17. You should fit those with little to no trouble.

 

3" lift, wheel spacers, trimming of plastic, and a cab mount chop and you won't rub during normal driving with no flexing.

 

Perfect thread cause I'm needing new tires. I'm thinking of going 265-75-16's on my off road. Hopefully they won't rub
