^I know you are probably kidding, but that's insurance fraud...don't claim something that did not happen.

It should be covered under your comprehensive coverage...the same insurance that covers you when you hit a deer. Your deductable is usually less expensive.

 

If its just the tailgate, I would ask the horses owner to replace it for you. Equestrian owners are not only responsible for their horses actions, but they usually can afford to buy a tailgate and are fairly reasonable people.

Epic story! Sorry about the tailgate man... that sucks. I would avoid going the insurance route if its going to cost you $500 anyway. Just buy a new tailgate. But not from some scumbag on craigslist who probably stole it. Buy a legit tailgate.

haha now thats a story worth keeping the damage for. But if you insist on fixing it, any body shop may be able to hammer most of that out. Or you could DIY it, just get a heat gun and a decent hammer and go to town.

 

haha dude i had the something similar, well it involved a horse anyways..... One of our horses chewed the paint off of the driver side fender and corner of the hood doing over 700 dollars worth of damage. I turned it in on insurance and it was covered by comprehensive so there was no deductible. GL
