Lol, my truck is an 05 with 144k miles on it. The transmission i have is a known piece of shit, worst toyota tranny ever.

    What would you recommend?

Personally, i would upgrade if possible. If its that bad of a tranny i wouldn't replace it with another. I'm sure somebody around this site can get you some info on it. I have a 6.0 FORD i know something about repairing a hunk of shit! But i wouldn't replace factory for factory.... my $.02

The fact is that Toyota has upgraded this trans twice, once in 07 and again in 09. So this in an upgrade. The only other options are WAY out of my price range. So I'll ask again, what are your recommendations?

The synchros and shift forks in the 05-06 trannys just aren't strong enough for the 4.0 V6. It was the very first year of that engine/tranny combo and they just didn't do enough testing before bringing it to market. To be honest I'd love to swap in a 5-speed auto, but I'm thinking the hassle of wiring would be too much and I can't afford to pay someone to do it for me.

Do the 09 and be done with it! Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

One week from Friday I'm out. Excited just because it's different. We really like the house we bought over there a lot. Ellen is going to be staying here for a month though to finish out teaching.

 Everything is going really well as far as the move is concerned. The relocation company makes it much easier. The hard part is that my house has been on the market for 2.5 weeks and no one has shown any interest in it.

If I show interest but don't buy, will the Astros win some games against good teams please?
