Just an FYI, I called TRD today and they said that the fit kit for the 2012 Tacoma is now available. Forgive me if I am a little late to the party....just thought I'd share the info.

Don't mean to throw a monkey in the wrench but that information is incorrect. I work for a Toyota dealer and have been patiently waiting for the fit kit since I purchased my 2012 Tacoma last October. Although the part number for the fit kit is in the Toyota parts warehouse database, there are no fit kits available in any Toyota parts warehouses in the United States. I know this because I perform a national database search for the fit kit every day (checked this morning). It does look like it should finally be available very soon but we will all have to continue waiting a little while longer.

What would be the difference between the 2011 and 2012 fit kits?

So basically the fit kit has been developed, given a serial number but has just not hit dealers' shelves yet?

Basically, that is correct. And to answer a previously posted question, the 2012 added an air pump setup which makes the fit kit for the 2012 completely different than the fit kit for the 2011.

Well, I may be mistaken but I believe that the actual supercharger is the same as the 2005-2011, just a different Fit kit.

Yes the fit kit is different but it has been released, according to two dealerships so far.

Arrived Saturday and installed on my '12 Tacoma double cab (by dealership) earlier this week. I live at 5,280 ft and play at about 10,000 ft and so it is a welcomed accessory. My only complaint is that, when I step on the gas pedal, it sounds like Sofia Vergara getting a hot stone massage. Yikes. I wish it would engage a little later. Not quite as subtle as a turbo, but, does exactly what I wanted it to do, so, worth the money. The truck wasn’t anemic by any means prior to this new addition, but now, I’ve got to admit, un-laden, this thing is a rocket.

DSB I live in Denver and I want the SC for my 2012 Tacoma. Who installed if for you and how much did you pay for the install? Also, is it noisy?

Bought the truck and had the supercharger installed at Mountain States Toyota in North Denver. I can't say enough good things about them (sales and service). It took about a week to get it in. I was prepared to pay $4,450 for the part, then another $1,000 for the install but got a price match at the 11th hour based on a promo price from trdparts4u. The part ended up costing me $3,900 (+tax +install), BUT, I suspect that was because I bought a small horde of other parts at the same time. (Who can put a price on a midlife crisis!)

Noisy? Yes. BUT, I really did not know much about superchargers before I purchased it. I guess that comes with the territory. It's silent when I am cruising or accelerating lightly but kicks-in in a noticeable manner when I am just a little aggressive on the gas. A bit too early in my opinion. (My kids think it sounds cool) I'm starting to get used it, and, more importantly, am happy with the purchase.

Curious to see what it does to gas mileage. More to come on that. Oh, and, no more low grade gasoline - premium only.

If you keep your foot out of it your gas mileage should not change much at all.
