Hey y'all. This is my first post but not my first time on the forums. Actually this forum inspired me to get a 4x4 tacoma and get rid of the old beater ranger that has plagued and mollested my pocketbook for the last year. Went to the dealershiP with my dad a couple weeks ago and found the truck i was looking for, even down to the color and lug pattern.

We started making offers and he ended up getting my truck for under 20k (21st bday gift/moving out gift) they gave me 3k fo my ranger that had broken wheel bearings and break issues... Dont know how they thought that was a good idea but im not gonna complain lol.

Well now to the reason i got my taco. Its gonna be one you havnt heard before... Im starting gunsmithing school in the fall and im going to be transporting firearms to and from school daily. Ill be attending lassen community college and taking their two year degree program for gunsmithing.

Now my main concern is safety and security so i will be mounting a toolbox on the wheelwell for my firearms and also adding a campershell for the extra concealment and lockability durring transport and while storing them while in class or traveling down to LA to see my parents.

I wanted the 4cyl engine for its timing chain, not so much the fiel economy, as i will be going out into the desert to do long range shooting (1000+ yards) as i am in the process of making a few small caliber wildcats for competition. I know the timing chain is more durable and will fair better in the dust and sand than a normal timing belt.

Well ill shut up about guns for now and let you look at my truck.

Those first 3 were taken up at grizzly peak/fish ranch in berkeley,CA looking over the entire sf bay area. If I had anything better than my iphone camera, i would have gotten the bay bridge and golden gate in those pix. Still a beautiful place tho... Well ima go drive up there now. These pix are torturous ;)

    Too many to list now.
Weird, my last truck was a ranger too. The danger ranger to be precise. It was also the push I needed to actually get myself into a new vehicle. Tired of getting rained on all the time. Stupid thing leaked like a sieve. I wonder how many tacoma owners are former Ranger owners.

My ranger was a 94 and was low miles even... Weird. I was told at the dealership that the v6 had a timing belt but after more research i have found it has the timing chain my mistake.

Btw im going to gunsmithing school in nor cal (one of the few left in the us) if anyone sees thi irony in that... Cant wait to get outta cali. lived here all my life...
