ah i know what you are doing.....

 

How is it going to be finish around the ends? I am just curious if the end pieces will be as high as they are now or if you have something up your sleeve....

Bigger the better. Whatever you do, make it oversized so you can fit vehicles AND junk .

looks awesome. What does the underside look like? Any reinforcements from the side of the bumper to the frame?

Thanks man. Build a 2+ large enough to work on two trucks in the garage with shop space. They I will hang out at your house all the time.

Yeah there will be tube going straight to the frame. Bumper will be welded on for strength purposes. Also he is going to put a couple of tabs on that tube to the frame so I can put some ghetto mudflaps on there to keep me legal in Utah. Also another tab just resting next to body to keep it from flexing so much but not attached to allow for movement. I will grease to keep it quiet.

Yeah the rear section is not quite done yet. It will get a bit of tube on it like their 3rd gen 4 runner bumper:



For the tire we have talked about a carrier that will mount it vertical off the passenger side bed (inside). the carrier will mount to the rail system and allow me to remove everything if I need to haul stuff. Or a mount to the bottom of bed. Not decided yet. I need to be able to haul sometimes with the tail gate down so a swing out really will not work. For Moab I think it is just going to get some straps and a cable lock until we figure it out.

Also will be a step into the bed once I get a bit of Grip Tape for it.

 

You should ask Scotty what he would do about the shackle mounts. That is going to be the one of my next big projects.
