    Ah. meh. I must have copied and pasted the wrong thing here. When i placed my order on the redlinetuning site, i ordered the ez down tailgate strut. That's also what shows on my invoice from redline and paypal. When I got my package today it had the quicklift struts in it. Not the plus, or the elite, just the quicklift.
    I called them and said I got the wrong part and they said they are sending me the ez down tailgate strut, and told me I could keep the hood struts for the trouble.
    Based on the order I placed, I did get the wrong part. My invoice from redline and paypal clearly shows I ordered the ez down tailgate strut, as does the price since my total with shipping was 63.81, which is less then the hood struts by themselves. Even the reference number on the shipping label says 05-12 Tacoma EZ Down. Again, the info I copied and pasted here was incorrect. I copied someone elses line, put my username in, but forgot to change it to ezdown strut.
    If they packed my order based on what I accidentally copied and pasted on here, that's not a good way for them to pack items. Also, even if they did go by what's here, I didn't get the plus lifts, just the quicklift's.

    I'm not mad, cause they made it right. I was at first, but oh well.

    right on I thought I was missing something,cool u got a free set of hood struts gotta love that...enjoy they are to easy to install, unless u have a volant CAI like I do and I am running 1 strut instead of 2:eek:

    Rivets are RIVETTI (singular RIVETTO), and a rivet gun would be a RIVETTATRICE.

    If you want to wait until September I can bring you one then, but it shouldn't be hard to find in a FERRAMENTA (hardware store). Where in Italy are you stationed?

    I found this solution for the clearance issue and plan on using this on my truck when I install it this weekend.

    We need to trim the edge of the tailgate cover to make the space. This is not my truck, hope this helps.

    well that is an interesting idea... i have a tailgate reinforcement steel plate on mine so the composite cover is already trimmed, maybe it wont be necessary. that damn plate is the only reason i need the strut at all, it must weigh 40+ lbs that tailgate and it always just slams when my girlfriend opens it. thanks!

    No problem hope this helps. I am also considering placing a washer behind the lower mounts to push the cyl over toward the tail light a little to make even more room. I'll post picture if that works.

    Still waiting for my order to arrive.:frusty:
