I'm hoping we'll get another few bucks knocked off if we hit 200, but I'm not holding my breath...

    Eric,
I meant talk to him about the rear spring shackles. See if he has any ideas to beef them up or flip them.

Yeah I will. I am going to work with him still on a tire carrier that attaches to the rail system. So I can ask about that as well.

Other than recording mpg, speeds and such. What are other benefits of it?

Someone link me. I may just pick one up. I miss not having MPG read outs but I have a feeling it will just make me sad face on this vehicle.

That's pretty much it other than the CEL codes mentioned.

Since it taps into the ODBII, you get a massive amount of information. All sorts of temp info, pressure info, etc. Anything the computer can report basically is now available at your fingertips.

I'm a control freak, and the more info (and accurate info) I can get is gravy to me :D.

Why not simply buy an OBDII bluetooth dongle and then run an app like Torque? This is what I do on my other cars and the dongle will run you about $20ish and the app has a free version or I think the pro version cost me $5 and you can use it on multiple cars? I may pop a dongle into my Tacoma to see if it works like it does on my other cars.

That would require me to a) have a smartphone and b) want to use it in my car constantly. No thanks.

Well you're a little more rare these days if you're afraid of smart phones and using them in your vehicle. :D I have a phone mount that puts my phone where I can see so it would simply be opening the app before I take off and then putting it in the mount so I can see it while I'm driving. In that respect it would be no different than the gauge you're talking about. The difference is it's less expensive and you can select which things you want to display, datalog and even change up the colors and types of dials and such. It's pretty neat actually and for anyone who owns a smart phone you already have the expensive part of the equipment.

I have a smart phone, but it plays music in my truck. That's it... I use it for nav when I have to, but that's rare. I do NOT fiddle with my god damned phone when I drive.

Besides, I'd rather something dedicated I don't have to fiddle with. To each their own.

You seem really agro right now and I'm not sure why. I never said anything about 'fiddling with your damn phone while you drive' and I think I was pretty clear on the fact that you can simply turn it on to display the same shit the UG would display and leave it alone. You can still use your phone for music while it displays gauges. Nothing changes really.
