Not sure what you mean by "agro" but ok... I'm not angry if that's what you mean.

I just don't use my phone in the car. I can't stand it when people constantly use their smartphones in the car. It's dangerous, and should be outlawed... I don't have a mount for the phone, nor do I want one. So while your option works for you, it's definitely not going to work for me.

With that said, the UG can be a distraction as well - but it's a focused distraction. I'm not getting text messages on the UG .

 

What part of it works the same way as a UG are you not getting? If all you want is the sensor scanning capabilities of a UG you launch the app and put the phone on your mount/phone holder. It then displays gauges JUST LIKE THE UG. How hard is that to understand? Did I ever once say you needed to text someone? Saying it should be outlawed because YOU can't handle it is silly.

 

I just don't understand how someone can be pro-UG yet so anti-smartphone displaying the SAME things. Makes no sense to me.

 

It doesn't work the same way... It's a smartphone, it does 10,000 different things, and I'm not sure why you aren't understanding that. Distracted driving is dangerous, and I do not want my smartphone distracting me when driving. I'd rather just glance at the UG and not have to worry about fiddling with BT dongles, pairing, and any of that junk. I just want it to work, no fuss.

I don't really care anymore, I'm not going with the solution you provided. Thanks for offering an alternative, but no thanks. Maybe someone else will like it, but I'm just trying to drum up interest in the UG group buy as it's a) a good price and b) the more we get the better. So I'd appreciate it if you left it at that

Indeed. I'm not trying to start a war, I just want to get a good price on an UG and let other people know that they're available at a good price... Yeesh.

 

Why? All I'm doing is offering a 2nd option for those who want to monitor their truck's sensors. Why am I being attacked or needing to drop anything? Would you tell someone who suggests a different solution for auxiliary lights to drop it? Seems foolish to me.

Drop the whole smartphone argument. You've provided your solution, I don't like it. That's my opinion. You have yours. No need to continue arguing something that's pointless to argue about.

Why do you make it seem like you mess with all this stuff while you drive? You mess with NONE of it while you drive. It is quite literally exactly the same as having a UG display your desired outputs. Identical. When you buy a UG you have to connect it, right? Do you do that while you drive? I just don't get the extreme hate for something that is so similar as something you are in complete support of.

And there it is. It has nothing to do with my solution being bad so much as you saving a few bucks. Kind of ironic when my solution would save lots of money over a UG. Go figure. For future reference I'll keep my alternate solutions that save even more money to myself as to not offend anyone. It's not worth the effort to try to present alternate ideas then have to argue baseless points because I did so.

 

I'm not mad. I'm paying $20 for what he's paying $55 + shipping. What reason do I have to be mad? Check your boy with the mad username as he seems more mad about it than me. Try to save a guy a few bucks and you're labeled as a 'mad bro'. I'm done with the topic.
