How to milk this? Advise

Ok, I ordered a truck March 2. AC, TRD OR, Tow, MT = $28700 +fees, and -500 incentive at delivery.

Salesman, Sam, calls Tuesday and said the truck will be in on Thursday. I call Thurs. Sam had quit so the receptionist forwarded me to Eddy who took over Sam's accounts. This was 230pm and Eddy was short with me, said we are expecting it, you'll be able to pick it up today or tomorrow.... No call. Called at 5 to check in, he was even shorter with me and told a guy next to him with me on the phone "I don't want to deal with this guy." and we cant predict when it will come in, we are just expecting it tonight. Pissed me off, I swallowed it and said I'll talk to you when you get it.

Friday, I called and checked with him. He said it won't be here until Monday or Tuesday and "he did me a favor and checked.". What, a favor? I told him off about his attitude, me being the customer, and that my situation is far more unnerving than his dealing with a "free of work sale" and who the hell does he think he is talking to me like that. After profuse apologizing, he set an appt with me for tomorrow to get a loaner ( I am without a car).

Tomorrow, do I take my deposit and settle on a different truck/ different dealer.

Ask for 500-1000 off the price

Consult with other dealers to arrange a trade for my truck.

Ask for them to throw in all weather mats, bed mat, other goodies.

????

7 weeks o day after ordering 2012 taco, original ordering salesman quit this week after promising car would be delivered Thursday/Friday, new salesman is an ass hat and lied about delivery and treated me like a nuisance, I don't have a car and am tired of waiting...

Sounds like you have the money to go someplace else, and I would take my money someplace else, and let that dealer know. It is total BS that they treat you like that, I know shit happens, and most of the time you should just roll with it, but when you are ordering a new vehicle and spending that kind of money, you should be able to expect some consideration.

My local dealer is a big bunch of ass-hats like the people you are dealing with, I go elsewhere for everything now.

I am agreeing with everyone thus far. Also, it is Toyota dealer network, who thinks I can get my same truck through dealer trade with a different salesman?

 

If you haven't signed a purchase contract and just gave them a deposit then just take your money and give your business to another dealer, write a bad review on Yelp and call it a day. As far as dealer trade with different salesman/same dealership that's gonna prove to be hard if the the truck you want is hard to get in your area. If the dealer that has the truck you want is not offered something of equal vehicle in demand by your dealership there's no reason they'll trade you might just have to go to the dealership that has what you want on their lot

 

I would try option 2 first and then option 3 if they don't budge.

Call the toyota MAIN headquarters--tell them your dissatisfaction--They will help.
Go to the meeting w/headquarters information.

Man! I'm glad that I never got that kind of salesmen. I would have walked out and said I will be writing Toyota of America about my experience with their dealership. You can save your words because I'm taking my cash and going elsewhere.

 

Call the manager and tell him what happened, that you're reporting it to corporate, and that you're going elsewhere. Let him make the deal to keep you.

I recently had to deal with some nincompoops about how they fucked up my wedding at a hotel (ritz-Carlton). I did the above steps and they not only refunded the entire deposit, they even offered a honeymoon on them at any of their resorts even though we're still getting married at a competitor. Don't give up yet. Scare them.

Jordan, seriously? Make your appointment, collect your deposit and then go do business with people who appreciate those that keep them in business. Tell them what you want and if they don't have it in stock let them know where they might find one.

Anyone selling me something that acts butthurt because they have to deal with will soon find that they won't ever have to deal with me again since they obviously hate money.

 

Yeah...or atleast let them know you are going elsewhere...and then it is in their court if they want to offer you any incentive...be firm with demanding what you want if you find they are trying to keep your business...

 

Get your money back and go elsewhere. Dealerships normally kiss your ass before the sale goes through then turn into assholes afterwards...this place is acting like you already took possession.
