Interest in shackle flip for 05+ Taco???

I know I'm new over here but I was referred to come over here and put this out there for you guys so I hope this is okay.

Gauging interest in a shackle flip for the 05+ Tacoma. Everything is designed and ready to go but it doesn't make sense for me to do it with anything less than a run of 20. I will have a prototype built to verify and make any changes.

Factory shackle will be retained, just inverted. 1" or 1.5" XJ lift shackles can also be used for additional lift. It is all 1/4" steel plate that is laser cut and broke. You get two mounting options at the frame and three at the shackle. The hangers can also be flipped side to side for really long spring set-ups. This gives you 12 total mounting options, 36 if you include the three shackle options. There is over 7.5" of adjustment. This means the kit will grow with your truck as it changes. Expect up to 1" of lift depending on set up.

After doing some research and really taking a hard look at my rear suspension I think this is a great idea, the concept looks really solid.

But this design looks great. Very flexible/adjustable, and it looks solid from the others I've seen...

 

N00b question time.

What to these shackle kits do for the truck?

 

They provide a slight bit of lift, get your shackles out of the way of harm, and provide more droop so your rear tires will stay on the ground longer.

You will probably need new shocks and brake lines to really get the full benefits of the shackle flip.

already leaning a different route for this mod, but i'd definitely side with you if i wasn't

i hear you put out some top notch products and supporting a colorado fabricator would be an additional bonus

 

How are the XJ shackles an upgrade from stock and will this shackle flip kit only require drilling to mount to the frame?

I think it bolts through the rivet holes.

The XJ shackles allow you to get a little more lift and most are greasable like said.

Mounting will require removing the factory rivets by your method of choice. I prefer to "X" the head down to the shaft with a cut off wheel, then use a chisel head on the air hammer, followed by the point attachment to drive them out of the frame/bracket. (HF's $15 one actually works really well ) Then you have to drill those holes out a little larger. Bolt it up where you need it and go.

I'll keep the first post updated on all the forums as more people join the list. Just be ready to spend up to $200 and you're good. Don't hold out waiting to see the interest though. Your order could be the one to send this into production. If everyone mostly interested is , then it's going to take longer to get this going.

sub'd Quick question... So with the stock shackle, whats the min/max amount of lift this would provide? estimated of course...

 

I would think .5", maybe 1"...?

 

Somewhere around there. I'm keeping it as low as possible within the constraints of the truck.
