PS Power Window not working

This winter past I passenger side PW stopped working. I thought I blew a fuse. I checked that and the 20a looked fine. I swapped 2 20's around in the fuse panel anyway but it still didn't work. I brought my truck in to Toyota today for regular maintenance and mentioned the window. They said they may not have time to check it as I didn't mention it when I booked the service. Fair enough. If they do have time, it may cost $80 to diagnose because it may or may not be covered under warranty. So I didn't bother to get them to look into it.

So given the fuse is good, and the window doesn't work from either switch, but the DS window does work, where is a good place to start to diagnose this myself?

I likely tried to open the window when it was frozen and blew something. The question is what?

Everything goes through the main switch from what I remember.

My windows were problematic and would only work sometimes and or stop working for days on end.

Pop main window lock button up and down a few times. See if it go stuck closed. Happened to me once.

Also pull the switches and check the contacts on them. Three of mine had corrosion building up on them and caused most of my problems.

 

Make sure to check the child window lockout button on the driver's side wasn't pressed by accident. Happened to me once and took me a bit to figure out.

 

I know this is an older thread, but I figured I would thank you anyways.

My passenger side window stopped working. After checking the fuses and figuring that since both switched didn't work and the fuse was good it must be the motor. I was just ready to start pulling the door panel off when I thought I would do a quick search on TW to see if anyone had a similar problem.

To be honest, since I have a Access cab (and no kids), I didn't even think to checkl the child lockout.

Sure enough, that's what it was!

So glad I found this old thread. I would have never guessed to check the child lockout button on my access cab. On my other vehicles the driver's controls will still work the power windows even when the other controls have been locked out. This thread just saved me a lot of headache, swearing and a few thrown tools. I will check that button first thing the next time I let the wife take the truck again, as she's the one that hit it this time.

 

LOL, that was exactly me when I somehow inadvertently pressed mine whilst installing my remote start/alarm system waaaay back in 2009. I thought I had fooked something up, only to find the child switch after checking things with a multi-meter... and much cursing. But it's still good when we get an easy one.

 

I don’t seem to be having as much luck with my 2011 Double Cab. Only Drivers side switch/window stopped working. All others work as normal. All fuses are fine. Starting to get on my nerves. Ordering a new driver door switch panel from Amazon.
