there's at least one maserati rolling around here that I know of, quite a few high end cars for a small city. not sure where they drive these F'n things though, our roads aren't very good.

I've seen pretty much everything here surprisingly. We are at the gateway to cottage country so the summers everyone drives through here.

That's what I was thinking. Must not have had enough clearance to make into the lots so he had to drive this far down to park on the street...

I played a little bit today. I have been so busy with school man... Not even funny. But I will be on more starting a couple weeks from now

Hell, I've built 2400 sq ft places on water front properties that were easily 1mil. If your on the popular muskoka lakes it's retarded expensive. Anything on Georgian bay that's drive to or 1 hr boat ride from a marina, expensive lol. If your on a swamp or small (smallllll) in land lake, it might be affordable.

there's a "lake" (by which I mean a slough) 10 miles north of town that has 20+ cabins in the $750,000 range. it's only like 500m wide and maybe 1km long, I don't get why people would spend that much on a cabin at that "lake"

Ya it's just insane what some people will pay. And here the traffic is retarded. Majority of cottagers come from the Toronto area. On a regular trip from Toronto to one of the main areas is a 2.5-3 hr drive, on long weekends it's 5+ hrs, there's usually a few people killed every weekend on the roads because they did something stupid, just dumb. My wife wants me to build a cottage on my property but just the thought of joining all the idiots heading north to go to the cottage makes me mad lol

For an older cottage, 1800 sq ft on a small in land lake, you'd be lucky to pay 300k. But you would need to do a lot of work to the building, no point having a boat because the lake would be too small for it.

A friends wife is looking at buying a 'summer home'. The house and property is 3.5 mil, the house itself is basically a tear down (which is what she wants to do). He figures their end budget would be in the 7 mil range all said and done for a new house, landscaping, etc

my old man sold his cabin at Lac des Isles (2 1/2 hour drive) for $240,000. 1100 sq ft, built in 1986 aboot a 5 minute walk to the lake. think he's planning on buying a lake lot where 2 of my uncles have cabins, I believe the lots he's looking at are $100,000 to $150,000.
