03 Double cab 4x4 build

2021 Had a few things in store for this guy including new paint, re-valved suspension, and a new roof rack. More to come but starting to have the desired look:

I've had this truck since 03 when I bought it from the dealership with 19,000 miles on it. It currently sits with 227,xxx miles and still going strong. I absolutely love this truck and have considered many times trading it in for a second gen but seem to have a hard time giving it up so now I am going to finish building it the way I intended. When I bought the truck it was completely stock and I have done the majority of the work myself. Not done too much yet but I have recently replaced the front suspension with King adjustable coilovers and replaced the tie rod ends and also sway bar bushings with energy suspension bushings. I have aftermarket Ulta wheels that I put on a year after I bought the truck but I would like to switch them out or maybe just paint them solid black. I will be lifting the rear this week and then replacing the upper control arms with some TC UCA's.



After coilover installation (only set up an inch until rear is complete):Excuse the dirt, I couldn't wait to get the coilovers on so I forfeited the bath and got straight to work.


After a long day of mudding and before the coilovers:

Unfortunately the infamous Arizona sun has claimed my paint but once all the mods are done the way I want I will have the truck repainted. I figure the mud will cover it for now

Decided to be a little different and paint my deck plate blue and the screws black (it is properly coated, white is from the flash of the camera) ...my enthusiastic helper in the background

 

After completing the deck plate mod:





Need to touch up the paint but it didn't turn out too bad IMO.

After a long day of dis assembly and prep work I have almost no chrome left on my truck:




Still need to work on the valance and the fender flares, but I am going to try the magic eraser before I start painting that too. Now it's time for some new headlights and wheels.

Here is how it currently looks with the bumpers painted, the lightbar, and the rear lift finished. The front will be lifted another inch or so this weekend and new tires will be soon after.

haha. nice truck though! how do the kings ride? ive heard they were great offroading and decent on the road..

 

I love the Kings. I have had them on for a few months now and there is a night and day difference. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. Off road they are amazing and on the road I did not notice too much of a change. Much higher than my stock setup so I am happy.

yea im looking to get some coilovers and im looking at fox, king, and SAW. ill be making bank this summer so ill save up and buy some. cant wait!
