My first 'yote - finally!!

Well, after countless hours in the deserts of Arizona and now in the woods of Western Washington - I finally got my first one. Everybody meet Sebastian the Coyote. Yes, I named him!!

Called in with a foxpro spitfire "coy pup distress"

 

Now ur addicted lol I love shooting those song dogs.

 

havent got one myself yet...dont really target tho...we do the..if you see the bastard shoot em..even if you see a deer, turkey, whatever. ahah

 

wow what a beauty! ...and so, is the coyote

 

my only gripe is the OP didn't clear his rifle before setting it down for the trophy photo...

 

when dealing with supposed dead animals..or the possibility of others around...you keep it loaded.

 

thats what your pistol that you should be carrying with you is for

 

i'm inclined to go along w/ what frostbyte said.. i'm a bit of a procedural/safety nazi.... loaded rifle as evidenced by several rounds visible through the mag window (assuming chambered round as well), hopefully the OP had flipped the safety lever, ..rifle loaded, unattended, barrel pointed at who knows what... anyway, don't want to derail OP's thread here, ..a learning experience for me as well..

 

Well in my current situation im not yet allowed to carry a pistol...aah

I completely agree with taking proper safety measures...safety should be on NO MATTER WHAT, until that gun is pointed at the animal you are wanting to take and about to pull the trigger.

ill give OP the benefit of doubt that the gun is on safety and he checked around before laying his gun down.

 

Gentlemen, thank you for the input on gun safety. You are all very correct that the safety should always be on unless target is confirmed. In addition, it is crucial to not only know your target, but what lies beyond as bullets can travel miles if not stopped by a target. Also, muzzle always pointed in a safe direction regardless of it the gun is loaded or not.

In regards to leaving gun loaded while taking the picture, you better believe I am going to leave that 30 round mag in there when I am all by myself, miles away from my truck or any help AND in the heart of bear country as the game cameras in the area have confirmed. Please note that in the second picture my rifle was unloaded by the time I reached my truck.
