Whats a cv tear mean?

    Ive been seeing a lot of people that are having their cv boot tearing....im not totally sure what that means...can someone explain to me what that means? and how to prevent it? Im about to put a lift on and tires but dont really offroad

    on a 4wd truck the front wheels are driven by cv axles. the axles have a cv joint which can flex in any directions. around these joints are boots that are made of rubber which can fail. thus leading to grease leaking out and dirt getting in causing a failure

    Yeah i know! Thats whats so good about this sight! lots of cool people and help and sick trucks...just wish there were offroad trails here:( just about every state but Mississippi has good off road trails...all we have are boggs
