OK Jerry, nice looking protection!

I've been admiring your stuff since before I even had a Tacoma. I wish I had gotten in on the GB for the rear diff armor, but hard to buy for a truck you don't yet have.

This will be my first piece of armor, but I have a few concerns to clear up first.

My 1993 Toyota and I have been to the Moab area twice for a total of almost 5 weeks of driving around. Each time when I got back the under side and all the components were cover in heavy red dust and sand, some of which is probably still there today after 15 years.
In addition, around here, heavy salt and in the UP of Mich salt and sand, are a curse. My '93 just bit the dust due to frame rust. One of the LCA's is also got holes in it.

Question 1: Does armor in general, and the LCA armor specifically, increase the chance of accumulating salt and dirt and thereby moisture and rust??

Those "mounting holes" are there for a reason, and I'm sure Toyota never planned to bring out accessory armor. I suspect they are there for drainage.

Question 2: Also, how much does the 1/4" and 3/16" plate weigh? Does the extra weight affect how the suspension functions? Specifically, rebound dampening.

It sounds like these come on/off fairly easily and quickly.

Do you use SS hardware?

Do you think it would be practical to take them off in fall, and replace them in spring? (there 'prolly not necessary for sno-wheeling)

Can you install and remove them without jacking up the vehicle?

If you have a 2012 you don't need the BPV bracket.
