I hit a deer :(

It might be a possibility but as for right now, I dont know what im gonna do or get for my truck besides taking her to the body shop lol

 

For now I think i will stick to our defensive driveing lesson. The set up a cone somewhere hidden on the roadway. as we approached it someone on the side pulled it by a rope into the road so we would have as little protection as possible. We were told to break as much as we could then give it some gas to raise the front end up

I just hit the brakes and braced for impact, I'm glad i did not swerve to miss it cause i would have hit an oncoming car or hit a tree right next to the road

 

My friend did that on interstate 81 (traveling at 65mph) and totaled his car against a guardrail. The insurance wouldn't cover it becaused he swerved to miss it instead of hitting it.

 

Oh man that sucks, so what did he do, get a new car himself with no insurance help?

 

He spent $400 on one of those old green (i think) Chrysler or dodge minivans. The doors are dented and don't have that faux wood paneling haha. It was all he could afford lol but it gets the job done!

 

yeah, I hope he soon will be able to get something better

 

haha he's the kind of guy that could care less. I'm more happy with his older brother who traded in his ranger for an '06 taco

Wish I had an ARB or a bull bar to protect my front. This is what happened to me at 35mph without any protection up front when I collided with a deer.

Sorry to hear about the damage! You don't even get to enjoy the truck after the bed cover installation. Hope she's as good as new when you get her back.

Man that sucks. The damage isn't too bad though. Gotta watch out for deer down here in GA. I've come close to hittin many deer, and did hit one when I had a Honda Prelude. That was bad. But good to see you and the truck are both relatively OK.

 

I'm glad you have a bull bar. That definitely saved your Taco from further damage. Glad to hear you are okay.

 

What is it and deer and Tacoma's? This is like three or four in the last month or so. Are our trucks stealth like that they can't be seen or heard by deer? Thank goodness it's not cows or horses. Sorry to hear about your truck.
