SO its taking forever for my pics to download.... *sigh*.....

 I said it wasn't my fault
Got to camp just before 11am - checkout time is 11. Cruised around and there were only 2 empty spots so I went back to the self registration station (camp is only staffed in summer) and paid and marked out my spot. Set up camp and went about my day. Came back to camp late afternoon, started a fire, read a book...yada yada. About 8pm these two guys pull in and tell me that its their spot. I told them that is was vacant and there was no pay stub left behind (each site is marked with a numbered post, you clip a little paper stub to it) or any personal item (in addition to the paper stub they encourage you to leave something at the site...a chair, bucket, etc) to mark the site as being occupied when I arrived that morning. About 30 minutes later a ranger shows up and asks me whats going on, why did I take an occupied site etc. I told him that it was empty and unmarked when I arrived so I paid and set up camp. The guys chime in that they left some fire wood (2 pieces) and a rock on top of the fire wood so no one would take it. Hell of an anti-theft system there... The ranger (while trying not to laugh at them) explained to them that firewood and rocks did not count as a 'personal item' and apologized to me noting that it would be easy to overlook since many campers will leave firewood for hte next camper as a courtesy. He then asked if I would be willing to move to another spot (not really, tent was set up, fire was going good and I was almost out of wood). Thankfully the guys offered to take a different spot so I didn't have to move and set up camp in the dark.

Yep...and it was over 70* that last couple of days. I got really sunburned. I won't be surprised if my nose doesn't blister

Downloading pics now. Didn't really have any great opportunities to try out the lens but I did take a few pics with it. One thing I hate about a lens that size is that you can't be inconspicuous about taking pics...EVERYONE and their brother stops and asks you what you're looking at!
