Got an 09 and even checked out MUSHU but I did not realize the amount of plastic trim till I washed today. How do you NOT get was on all that plastic? There are even 2 plastic runners going across the top. Is there any wax out there that can be used on the paint as well as the plastic?

Thanks all for the help all have provided.

There are a few different waxes you can use that will not turn the black plastic white, one is Meguires let me look up the type.

I have also used Eagle one Nano wax, not too bad and I was able to go over the plastic with no problems at the time, however a few months later the black plastic needs to be hit again as it is looking a little hazy.

I have some of that. It is very nice. I do the Meguiars 3 phase process first with doing the 3rd phase twice to ensure i don't miss any spots. Then next opportunity, I do the NXT was. Looks soooooo good when done. Can't wait to put wax on the new truck!

Haven't come across any true waxes yet that don't leave a residue on unpainted plastic. I usually go over the plastic the next day with armor all.

Thanks for the info. I bought meguiers paste today but did not use it after reading that paste wax turns black trim white. I will bring it back to Target and get the turtle wax ice. I am kind of new but been around awhile and I think this site is fantastic as there are all ages and all are willing to share and help. Again thanks all

does the armor all hurt the paint? Remember I am new to a new vehicle life as all my other vehicles were hand me downs from the wife. She got the good stuff. This one is mine all mine and I so do not want to screw it up but I want to make it my truck. I want it to outshine her dam car. She is so afraid of driving my truck.

You can use Meguiar's detailing spray to clean off the black trim parts. For an over the counter wax, you'll find the NXT to be one of the better ones. Easy on, easy off, and looks great.

I bought the detailing spray today but was afraid to use it. If wax is on the plastic will the detailing spray remove it? Or will it also be white when it drys?

I have heard Collinite 845 is good for going over plastic. I am going to get some this fall and use it for the winter

I worked as a detailer for my dads company when I was in HS. Everything was by hand and all we used was hard wax and compounds. PITA!! I would spend an avg of 8hrs on a car inside and out! I would swear by Mother's until I found Diamond Shield Sealant. I no longer use the compounds, waxes, or quick detailer sprays. The sealant claims its good for one year. It will be one year for my truck in the summer, and so far, she still washes up great! It will leave a white residue on plastic trim, so I go over the trim the following day with an armor all cloth or wipe and clean it. If you get any armorall on the paint, just wipe it off. The sealant has already been applied and no harm will be done to the paint. Here is the link for Amazon.

OK as tomorrow the badging comes off and also the waxing part. I have meguires paste wax and thinking of returning it so the black trim does not turn white. Others recommended turtle wax ice but so far all I could find was turtle wax ice polish not wax. Is this the same as to what all were stating?
    Again thank you TW

I use mother carnuba wax it will turn the plastic white. But they also make mothers back to black. This stuff works great I used it the other day on all my trim and it looks brand new. I put some on a buddy truck thats a 92 and the trim looked great I think all of the mothers products work just like they should.
