The Wild Animal Park is cool because of the little tram tour, but it's not that big of a deal. Otherwise, the Wild Animal Park is just like the Zoo except that it's in the middle of nowhere and has more hills.

Seriously? You'll have more fun if you just go to Seaport Village down in the bay by downtown San Diego. Good food, good views, cool little shows. That rock guy is fucking awesome, i could watch him for hours!

Sea World is Disney, the SD Zoo has content. Might learn something.

Been to both many times and enjoy them both... They are different..

Sea World is more like Disneyland of the sea... dash from show to show do a couple of splash rides.

The Zoo is a casual place to walk all day past the animals and do the bus tour or cable tram overhead for a bit of a rest.

Both are well done, but it depends on what you want... see cool (wet) shows (Sea World) or see every animal in the world at your own pace (plants too at the zoo).

The Wild Animal Park has been renamed Safari Park, and has less to see than the zoo, but more of the animals are in wide open areas... lot's of walking and hills. See the condors and Baja desert cactus area along the way to Condor Ridge!

Well we made it. Opted for the zoo tomorrow. Hopefully the weather holds out. Thanks for all the replies. I think we'll hit up La Jolla wednesday for El Pescador restaurant.
