Looking into what is involved in taking a stock TRD rear locker and installing it on a 2004 tacoma? If it makes any difference it would be a v6 crew cab 4x4.
    Thanks

Are you wanting the locker itself or the whole rear end?

I am thinking just the locker as it seem to be the least expensive of the two options, but correct me if I am wrong.

I'm doing the same thing but after looking at the axle mods needed I'm just gonna buy the whole rear end. I know I need the switch and actuator, but do I need the wiring harness?

That does not work on the Tacoma 8.4" NON TRD Axle. On the old 8" axles.

Thanks a bunch. Getting the whole rear end seems like a far less frustrating venture!

Thanks for the heads up on that mod. On the 8 vs 8.4 axles

what do you guys think is a reasonable price for an axle. Also do you think i should get a 4.56 axle and re gear the front. Or a 4.10 to keep the same gearing i have 33's

Found a complete rear end out of a TRD with the Bilsteins still intact and the guy decided he didn't want to sell it.
