:) This is not to be a political statement, but a statement of fact.

I FEAR that this nation that I was born into in 1957 was the greatest nation in the world and now it isn't and NO ONE CARES to do anything about it.
We are behind in every major index of international standings and each day we get worse and all people can do is point at others.
I FEAR waking up and not being able to be do be an American.

My cat isn't scared of spiders; she spent 15 minutes last night chasing one all over the living room before she finally ate it.

That is so cool! I used to do a lot of diving in the PNW but never saw one of those torpedo rays.

Speaking of diving and being scared of dark, cold places; they pretty much are incompatible, at least in the cold waters off the Northwest Coast. I never saw someone who was easily spooked make it as a diver.

    Ya...

I took to it quickly. My favorite spot here in California is Farnsworth Bank on the back side of Catalina. It's a double-peaked seamount, the highest one is about 60ft down, the 2nd one is about 70ft, it levels off to a plateau at around 100, then steep again to 120 or so.
The other side is a sheer drop. A friend said that he's been on that wall at 300ft and still looking straight down.
That ray was shot at about 105ft.
Saw him again a few months later when I took a video of the dive and edited it down to about 20 minutes.

But I had to get used to dark quickly, as my buddy is an avid lobster hunter, and you don't hunt for lobster in the daytime ;)

Cool pic! I would love to see the video. Funny thing is, even though I have that fear, I love to see things in the ocean! But if its me in deep water and that fear of the unkown, because I'm out of my element. F that. Funny thing is I love to swim, and I am a pretty good swimmer.

You can put me in a dark room of a "haunted" house or some shit like that, I'll sit there all night long. Been in a building pitch black with smoke, and had to feel my way out, cool as a sea cucumber (see what I did there?) but stick me in deep dark water by myself, I'm not gonna lie, I may weep alittle.
