Hello everyone, looking to add ground clearance to my 2011 Taco, off road model. Does anyone know how to do this without using a lift kit? I've seen other tacomas like this but have never found the owner to ask them this question. I checked to see if anyone had asked about this but nothing popped up when I did the search. Thanks!

Welcome to TW! The only way to achieve more ground clearance is by using larger tires. Depending on size, you either have to lift, or do alot of cutting.

Thanks, I wish I would have joined this site sooner! When I read my owners manual and searched online for the biggest possible tires it was shown that I already have them installed from the factory. Oh well, not looking to do any real big mods, just wish the truck had more ground clearance. People post quick on here! Thanks for the response!

You can run 265/75/16 on stock Offroad wheels without rubbing

x2 and I believe there's a 255 series tire that's even taller than can be run without rubbing.

I don't think your going to be running that tire w/o a lift on it.

Just hack away until you can fit 255s. Shouldn't take much.

No lift is required for 255's or 35's. if you are to use a standard 3 inch suspension lift it doesn't actually change anything but utilize your suspension droop. when stuffed you will be in the exact same spot as stock.

Edit: If you use a 6 inch lift to fit either of those it is pointless. ruins your center of gravity. Well that is from a wheelers point of view...mall crawling is a completely different mind set that i dont try an understand

Look under your truck around the transfer case. You can improve ground clearance there by re-routing the exhaust crossover pipe.
