    neglect, mostly.
.... and the fact that people that would "boycott" a gas station on a unified date would just make sure they have enough gas before, and/or will fill up the next day, rendering the whole thing useless. ... now if nobody drove for a whole day, yeah, maybe something could happen there.

It would never do any good to boycott the oil companies. People try to do one every year and it doesn't do anything.

Lets not boycotte for just a day. Maintain this boycotte until we see the price drop.

And how would we do that? Without gasoline my life comes to a halt I can't go to school everyday because that's a 25mile walk. While something needs to be done it need to be done in the government offices a boycott wouldn't do anything.

I often see the small indys selling gas at 1 or 2 cents a liter less than the major suppliers. So come chang or habits and avoid all major suppliers until things change for our benefit....BOYCOTTE!!!!!

So I guess you're Canadian? For the US to boycott we'd be boycotting Canadian oil considering that we, the US, get somewhere around 75% of our oil from you guys and America export's more oil than import so we could open our own refineries and make our gasoline and cut out the middle man raising the prices. Just an idea but a boycott of oil companies would have to be massive to have any affect.

No they don't, your right, but they are the ones who lifted the restriction on buying oil. When Bill Clinton was in office, they lifted the restriction that you had to take possession of the oil in order to purchase it. Now you never have to take possession and you can trade it like stocks. This causes the price to fluctuate beyond just normal supply and demand curves.

A boycott for 1 day doesn't do anything. Who fills up every day? Not many people. You would need to boycott for at least a week if not a month for anyone to feel it.

I wouldn't be opposed to riding my motorcycle to work for a few weeks. 45 mpg vs 19 is a pretty big jump.

:gossip: It's probably a rewards card that give the rewards in price/gallon discounts.
