Sorry to hear that bro, but atleast it was able to touch up though. Time to let the nephew sit in the back with the child locks on, let uncle open the door when it's nice and clear!!!!

As soon as the first boo boo happened to my various cars, I relaxed afterwards.

Because I knew that this was the beginning of the eventual downfall and decrepitude that will come to the car.

As it accumulates more dings, scratches, chips, stains, fade the cars just begins it's eventual decline.

Please man., that is nothing. First month with my Taco I got a dent above a door and if i would have known how it happened. Maybe it would have been easier to live with... I called every dent repair person within a 50 mile radius and all said the same thing. The location sucks for PDR. You will need to go conventional. Coventional fix would be 400. I have just learned to live with it...

    Here is a pic:

Hope that made you feel better.

Get some of the Langka paint repair stuff. Works pretty good for a home do-it-your-selfer. http://www.langka.com/
    Quick, easy, and cheap.

Sorry to hear about that. The first scratch is always the tough one.

This sort of thing is one of the reasons that I'm glad that I bought a used 2007 Tacoma that had 9,400 miles on it. My truck still looks brand new, for the most part, and still has the remnants of the "new truck smell" on the inside, but there are some scuff marks on the truck bed from where the previous owner had a metal cargo lock box and there are several scratches from where they had moved equipment in the truck bed. The first scratches are there, but they weren't mine and that's what's important.

I'll never forget buying my previous vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, brand new in 1999 with only two miles on the vehicle when I drove it off the lot. Growing up in Georgia, I hadn't seen a hail storm for almost fifteen years. In the 30 days after I bought the beautiful dark emerald green Corolla, though, there were four hail storms in my area. To this day, I'm convinced that the only reason why the hail storms occurred in north metro Atlanta area in April/May 1999 was because I had purchased the brand new Corolla.

Broken and scratched tailgate, cracked rear tail light lens, coffee stain in driver seat.
Yeah I cracked the tail light and broke the latch on the tailgate in one day, I was crushed, but the agony does go away and I got the tail gate fixed, you'll relax after a while.

Gonna join the 'been there, done that' repliers...

About a month after I got mine some snotty nosed kid opened the door of his Mum's Escalade and put a ding in my door. I told the mother what happened and she told the kid off, and offered to pay for the repair. I said 'no', and told her just to make sure he didn't do it again to anyone else (hoping for some karma points here).

Now I know why people park in the quiet spots in the lot - where nobody else parks.

Not familiar with the Dupli color kit - so I had to look it up.... and it looks more like a professional-like kit.

The Langka stuff is a back-yard fix, quick & easy. Not perfect...but does a nice job for $40 and the time it takes to do it (which I don't have a lot of time).

So if you have the dupli-color and it works well for you, don't get the langka stuff.

Those are my favorite parking lot spots. Away from the other cars.

I'm generally amused/annoyed at the people who would rather spend fifteen minutes driving in circles and looking for a prime parking space at a mall than spend one or two minutes simply walking across the parking lot to the mall entrance. Of course, many of these are old girlfriends that I no longer date and that particular aspect of their mindsets was just the tip of the iceberg.

The problem sometimes is that people will drive faster through the empty parts of the parking lot. So we can't win, usually.

RMDo311, you say you tried dry ice but have you tried freeze spray yet? Let it get hot in the sun and then go around the dent slowly with the freeze spray to see if it will pull it out. Just a suggestion. Can't find freeze spray, turn a "duster" can upside down to spray it out.

I do know what ya'll mean, mine is 2 months old and I am walking my butt off after parking way at the other end of the parking lots. How long does it take for the "new" to wear off?

I tried that but I think it was too cold... I will be trying that in the summer. I'm hoping that it will work. Oh and BTW, I parked away from everyone too and it still happened. I guess sometimes its unavoidable.

Mines is 5 months old and it still smells new at times. And apart from that disgusting dent it still looks like new.

I always take my new trucks straight out to the bush to scratch it somehow, it hurts to look at initially but then the rest of the inevitable sctaches don't hurt after that. It makes it easier to take it into the bush after that though. I like the idea of using and testing the limits of my truck, I do understand though it is harder when you plan to keep your truck for longer than two to four years.
