I'm stuck. Quite literally. Decided spur of the moment to take a trail I've been on before (albeit in July) and now I'm real stuck. I have just decided that I'd like some 33" mud terrains, icons all the way around, a WINCH, and more power.

Too true kona, I must bow down to thee on this occasion. Haha the first thing the guy said when he rallied back to where I was: "you got some balls to try this in a stock Tacoma" to which I was reminded of someone's signature: seat covers and floor mats dont count as mods. That man is absolutely right, although tomorrow I will wash the mud off of my wet okoles and weathertechs and be glad I have them; I would far prefer at that moment to have had bigger tires. Haha lesson learned the hard way, don't do trails when you haven't planned to do trails i.e. are wearing shorts and sandals and are stuck in the snow. (it was nice when I went out at 7 pm). I got out safe and sound, the second bog I went through had water past my wipers too! That was sketchy to say the least.

It was actually kinda cool. Northern lights were out and it was crystal clear. It's still not totally dark out. Haha I realized I bought my retrofit kit at the wrong time of the year! I won't be able to enjoy them for another 6 months.

Actually never even had the guys number. Just goes to show you that the fraternity of tacomas goes a long way. He and I will definitely be hanging out soon. Hopefully one day I can pull him out. :)

Ahhh you must have done the 'tow yourself out with said tow strap' mod.

It was funny that the first thing I wanted to do when I got stuck was find some of you guys. Headlights in the rear view mirror on an isolated trail is like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. haha hope! Dude pulled me out no problem. I was high centered on some snow, so we pulled me off of that and I asked if we should continue forward or try and turn around. He said he got his Land Cruiser with 42's on it stuck in this trail this time of year. Forward was not an option. So I mobbed through some trees to get turned around but I do think I will be back to that trail. I will not be beaten! New pics up.

Have you thought about doing the 4-low trac mod? Until you do, H4 will have more traction than L4. Not sure how you got stuck and what your transfer case was set too, but mud is tough and tires have a lot to do with it.

When I was stuck I was rocking it between reverse and 4lo. I haven't heard of that mod? Is there a how-to? And yeah, that mud was exceptionally tough being that is was semi frozen and I run stock tires....for now.

Until you do the mod to add limited slip to Low Range, try using high range where you do have TRAC (like AUTO LSD) in 4WD. Instead of just one tire in front and one in the rear spinning, power will get over to the other two tires, as well.

It was a little bit eerie. And yeah I like the first pic too, especially because the "clean" front corner shows how deep that corner went in to the water on the way out. On the way in the whole hood was submerged. Up past my wipers.
