You have posted the image of a differential bearing, I don't think that is what you're looking for. Take another look at your driveshaft.



I think this is what u want ^^ also called the Center Support Bearing, part #37230‑0K040. Moog makes good front end parts but I'm not sure about their u-joints.

 

So the bearing can't be removed? The bearing, boot, and bracket are all 1 unservicable unit? Maybe I won't change that part.

What's the difference between 37230-0K040 and the -0K030? They both have the same description and both say they work on '05 taco according to a site I found this morning.

 

I have never heard of anyone removing just the bearing, you have to change the whole assembly. Go under the truck and try to move the driveshaft around, if there is play in the center bearing then you need to change it. Part #37230-0K040 is for 2WD Tacomas, while #

37230-0K030 is for 4WD trucks. FWIW my center bearing lasted about 80k miles.

Agreed, so long as one does lube them regularly. On the other hand, if you're not going to grease them, sealed ones will last longer. I prefer option one, but lots of people neglect maintenance.

 

At La Grange Toyota I see them showing both part #'s that apply for my truck, maybe its wrong but they don't let you to select 2WD or 4WD. Wonder whats the difference?

Side note, I bought an Anchor center support bearing. It lasted maybe 6 months before squeaking. I thought these were sealed bearings, maybe I need to pack around them before I put them in? Spraying a dry lubricant and white lithium hasn't helped. Thats why I'm looking into this. So I'm verifying the correct parts number as La Grange leads you to believe they're the same. I wonder whats different about them?
